Abstract:

Design earthquakes in earthquake hazard prediction are discussed in detail. The design earthquakes are divided into three kinds, that is, checking, prediction and recurrencing types. Principle and methods determining the design earthquakes are discussed. Application of the earthquakes in the different earthquake hazard predictions are further demonstrated.
